Making information easier to access
Sometimes, people with disabilities have trouble getting the information they need. This can happen if it's not shared in a way they can understand or use. We are working to fix that.
What we've done:
- Made our website easier for everyone to use. You can read more in our accessibility statement.
- Taught our staff how to make documents more accessible.
- Updated client materials using plain language.
- Added special listening devices in our clinics to help people who need them.
What we're working on:
- Learning more about how to support people who use service animals.
- Keeping our clinic entrances and hallways clear and easy to get through.
- Making our sound booths easier to use for people in wheelchairs.
Making our spaces easier to use
Some physical spaces can make it hard for people with disabilities to get the care they need. We're working to remove those obstacles.
What we've done:
- Checked our clinic buildings each year to look for problems.
- Talked to landlords to help fix barriers in shared spaces.
- Followed accessibility rules when opening new clinics.
What we’re working on:
- Making sure our website meets important accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0 Level AA).
- Fixing our PDFs so they’re easier for everyone to read.
- Training our staff on how to communicate in ways that include everyone.
- Including people with disabilities in family and client feedback groups.
- Offering materials in different formats, like large print, digital, and plain language.
- Making it easy for all clients and families to share feedback.
